Our Classic Beard Balm is the same mineral-rich formula as our Whiskers Beard Oil but with the addition of candellila or carnuba wax and nourishing shea butter maximizing cling for longer, thicker or coarser beards.

The balm can healthfully weigh-down fly-aways between trims, soften the feel of your whiskers and even act as a styling pomade for your facial fuzz---all the while sealing in moisture and giving your beard a glossy clarity and noticeable sheen.

Loaded with moisture-enhancing oils and grounding herbs, this non-comedogenic formula not only improves the look and feel of the facial hair but also reintroduces moisture to those hair follicles that often suffer as a side-effect of daily face-washing. ***The added moisture can actually stimulate beard growth.***

Directions for use:
After a shower or while the beard is slightly wet, scoop a small amount of Beard Balm onto the thumbnail and soften between the fingers. Apply thoroughly to the beard and mustache. TAKE YOUR TIME: imagine coating every hair on every side.
Fort Greene Smells fresh and alive! Think of it as a cologne version of mechanic's grease (it does not smell like an auto-body shop). It has an aroma that is pointed, invigorating and masculine without being butch. It is NOT "masculine" in the way that traditional men's fragrances are. It doesn't smell like a fragrance: it's more like a delightful bonus breath for some lucky bystander when you happen to pass wearing it. With its distinct botanical notes of pine (thankyouverymuch Rosemary) and the added character of Juniper, Fort Greene carries off a breezy balance with the dulcet additions of floral lavender and bergamot.
Why Name a scent Fort Greene?
The beauty of our fragrances is that they stimulate the olfactory sense in a completely different way from your everyday cologne, perfume or scented lotion. Whether she knew it or not, when Mckenzie originally formulated our core scents, what she was doing was redefining the relationships between fragrance and wearer, fragrance and smeller, and probably wearer and smeller as a result! She was blazing trails in the cliche-fraught fragrance industry. Our version of Fort Greene is a unisex blend of invigorating herbs and spices meant to regenerate, soothe and inspire. It is scented with juniper and rosemary, two incredibly uplifting herbs, and is balanced by lavender and bergamot to help create a beautifully balanced botanical blend of spiced, floral greens. The driving force behind this scent was to reflect Fort Greene's rich and varied musical history. In our studio we listen to a well-balanced variety of hip hop, rock n' roll and classics to get our inspiration: and so here's that inspiration, all bottled up, tin-sealed and ready for you to experience: Fort Greene.

Like I’m in a forest

I really love the aroma of this one, smells like I’m right in the heart of an Oregon forest. My beard feels softer and more manageable than ever before. Definitely will be purchasing more.

Classic Scent, Great Utility

After grabbing a sampler kit of the BG Beard Oils, and trying the different scents out, I settled on Fort Greene for my first Beard Balm purchase (though I think I'm going to grab some Red Hook, too). As with any scented product, it's important to try different ones to see how they work with your own body chemistry.

Easy to apply, and not greasy on my skin, the Fort Greene Beard Balm has worked great to tame flyaways and help maintain a professional-looking full beard. I'd recommend the Brooklyn Grooming beard balms to anyone who needs a bit more styling than just oil provides, though I do suggest trying out a sampler to make sure you get a scent that works for you.

When your chin deserves the charm your personality provides

This oil has an amazing aroma that smells like bottled confidence and charisma. While it does a superb job of moisturizing beard hair, the bouquet of an epic woodland experience sends positive signals to your brain throughout the day. My buddy turned me onto Pilgrims Beard Oil and now consider it AI for your beard.

The secret

I’ve been a fan of this oil for a few years now and I’ve recently re-upped another order as my young kids have growing pains and this magical oil helps them through a late night attack. They now ask for it knowing it calms their nerves and gets things settled to return to sleep. I’m so thankful this product exists.
